 We are developing a completely new (not modified) gearbox specifically for the Classic Jaguar range. This is an entirely new design incorporating new gear sets, “machined from billet” main case / tail housing and utilising all the best features from the existing Jaguar boxes & other OEM units.

                     

* Our gearbox uses the standard Moss / Jaguar stud pattern and spigot on the front case and input shaft datum to enable direct fitment onto your existing bell housing - no new bell housing, no machining and no adaptor plate required.

* The heavy duty gear sets and synchros are custom manufactured by an OEM gear company and are based on existing / proven technology. They are unique to E-Type Fabs.

* The main case is about the same width as the standard Jaguar 'box and 2" narrower than the T-5 with a heavier wall thickness - no fitting issues and no modifications to sheet metal.

* As the main case and tail housings are manufactured from solid aircraft grade billet alloy, they are more than three times the strength of a die cast component and the 'box is also much quieter in service.

* Custom mainshaft and input shaft manufactured from 9310 (EN36) - the best and it wont deform or break.

* Uses standard 1⅛" X 10 spline clutch plates.

* Smooth and quick gear changes all the way up to 7000RPM - the shift action is also a lot shorter than the standard Jaguar shift, but not too short in that it looses feel.

* Heavy duty synchro rings with composite facings that allow smooth high performance gear changing.

* Synchro on all gears including reverse.

* Needle roller bearing on all forward gears for strong and silent operation.

* Standard unit rated at more than 400ft/lb static torque - 25% more than most other common standard gearboxes.

* Gear lever position is correct and does not catch the upper part of the gearbox cover on the car.

* Supported, sliding rear output flange with new uprated solid prop shaft - stronger, no vibrations and no leaks.

* Speedo take-off is pointing up and on the right hand side of the 'box with the correct drive gears - no need to recalibrate the speedo, no oil leaks and utilises the existing speedo angle drive and cable.

* Custom gear knob with engraved pattern to original style with stainless steel shift lever.

* We supply various ratios and strengths to suit all applications and budgets  (*ratio figures to customers requirements, please enquire)

* The main 'box can be interchangeable with two different tail housings so we're able to supply: SWB & LWB, 6cyl and V12 E-Types; MK2; XK140 / 150 without having to use adaptors to suit the mounting plates and gear lever.

* Complete with full fitting kit including gear lever, gear knob, rear mounting, attachment plate and prop shaft.

* Our gearbox is stronger / more cost effective and better engineered than existing 5 speed gearbox options on the market.

We assemble and test the units ourselves and perform all the machining in-house using state of the art CNC machining centres, CNC turning machines and digital measuring equipment.  We offer a *conditional lifetime warranty and 100% customer satisfaction guaranteed - as with all our products, "we know 'cos we make 'em."
