CUTTING FRAME COMPONENTS:

Nearly every component that are used to produce our products are made in-house at E-Type Fabs. This is a movie of our CO2 laser cutting machine in the process of cutting some brackets from 3mm (1/8") steel sheet.

The material is aligned on the machine bed to ensure that the grain structure of all of the components is running in the correct direction, this aids forming of the material which is done at the next stage of production. Our laser cutter applies only enough heat to cut a pin sized hole through the steel which is then continued as the bed moves to form the part profile. The cut components remain reletively cool during the process and can be handled without glove protection almost as soon as the part is cut. In this movie we only use about 800W for the cut, though over 2KW can be used for thicker/different materials.
